Healthy Hearts

Mill Creek Elementary School

Twenty-four heart rate monitors were purchased for use in an elementary school’s physical education classes. Children will be able to gain valuable insight into the relationship between his/her movements, heart rate, and cardiovascular health.

Elmos and Projectors For Music Classrooms   Western Avenue, Mill Creek, Heartland, & Coultrap Elementary Schools

Elmo document cameras and LCD projectors were purchased for use in four elementary school’s music classrooms. Because teachers are able to project music text in large format, all students in the class can stay together when reading and performing music. Children are also able to project their written musical pieces for their peers to see and perform.

Graphing Calculators

Geneva Middle School South

Thirty graphing calculators and an overhead calculator were bought for use in middle school math classes. With the use of these graphing calculators students will be able to see and better understand multiple representations of mathematical concepts and learn how technology can impact their understanding of math concepts

Dance Dance Revolution For P.E. Classes

All Elementary Schools

Two Dance Dance Revolution programs were purchased for shared use in al the elementary schools. This innovative program provides an amazing, engaging, and fun way for all children to feel success while they practice movement skills and exercise in physical education classes.

Social Studies Multimedia Enhancer

Geneva High School

These five multimedia systems, which include LCD projectors and VHS/DVD players, enable students to access programs such as United Streaming and supplementary video materials in their classrooms every day. Students will also now be able to use this equipment to include media in their classroom presentations.

Stereo Microscopes for Discovery

Geneva Middle School North

These four stereoscopic microscopes will allow middle school students to view items which are three-dimensional.

Fit For The Future

Geneva Middle Schools North and South

Every student at both middle schools will now be able to download the information from these heart rate monitors onto computers to assess his/her cardiovascular fitness level based on his/her individual heart rate formula. This technology will provide each student with a tailored goal to achieve success at a non-intimidating pace.

Multi Media Equipment

The laptop computer and LCD projector will enable both students and teachers in social studies classes to give classroom presentations to their peers using video and power point programs.

E-Portfolios-Giving Students an Edge

Geneva High School

The students at the high school will be able to create easily accessible and visually dynamic E-portfolios to showcase their talents, academic achievements, and vocational experiences in a web based format.

Listening Centers         

Coultrap Elementary School

These listening centers will allow students in an elementary school to listen to books on tape or compact disc. Listening to books increases comprehension, fluency, and the love of reading.

Virtual Library Collection

Geneva High School

The addition of these electronic books will further expand the researching capabilities of students at the high school.

School Is Cool Quilt

Coultrap Elementary School

This finished quilt, made in art class by fourth grade students, now hangs in the art room at Williamsburg Elementary School.  The quilt depicts each child’s relationship to his/her school.

Innovated e-Learning Tool

Heartland Elementary School

This tablet PC and projector will allow teachers to demonstrate lessons and students to show their strategies to everyone in the classroom in a clear, large format. Additionally, the lessons and demonstrations can be saved on the PC for future classroom use.

Technology Update for FACS

Geneva High School

The four lap tops and computer site licenses allows the students in Family and Consumer Science classes to access and use in the classroom the technology programs which come with their textbooks.

Power of Geneva Fitness Center

Geneva High School

This monetary grant will enable the PE department to purchase additional cardio equipment for the fitness center which is used by all students at the high school.

Visual Learning Needs

These LCD projectors and DVD/VHS players purchased for the use at the high school will allow students to easily access and use in the classroom the computer programs which come with their textbooks.

Project Demonstration

Geneva High School

The Elmo document camera and LCD projector will enable students to clearly see and thus better understand presented materials and lessons. Also, students will now able to use this new technology when sharing their ideas and projects with fellow classmates.

Remote Replacement Microphones

Harrison Street School

These ten remote microphones will be used by children for this school’s annual PTO sponsored musical and other school productions.

Elmo Documentation Camera and LCD Projector

Harrison Street School

This document camera and LCD projector will not only be used in the school’s library, but also will be able to be checked out by teachers for classroom use.  The use of this technology will enable all students to see images not only in amuch larger and clearer format, (four times larger than what is available when using an overhead) but also in color.
