On April 7, 2012, the Geneva community and GAF lost a local treasure with the passing of Mary Hogan Bencini. Mary had been a passionate supporter of all things Geneva, but especially Geneva schools. In her honor, GAF renamed the GAF Teacher Grants as the ''Bencini Memorial Grants'.
